........... to a VERY slow start!!

It's hard to believe we only left home yesterday as it feels like it was weeks.. ok maybe only just days, ago.
Thursday 21st October does not seem to be a good day for starting epic journeys....... at least for us anyway ;D  It's a good thing i don't believe in omens or we would still be at home curled up in a ball!


It was off to a bad start, when we were already about 4 hrs late in leaving as we still hadn't sorted out last minute 'crap' to fit in the truck. any hoo,

Goodbye house - the engine WAS running!!

 4 hrs later we 'dash' into Edmonton for some lunch and to drop off keys to the real estate agent, oh and some toys to the toy library.
So we gets to Piccones IGA weather is miserable.

Now usually, when i have to duck into a shop i leave the car/ air-con on and the kids in car. (do i need to 'duck' for cover :O ??! ) now for some weird reason i thought, 'hmmm, it's drizzly/not hot, i'll save fuel and just leave the radio on for them' do you see where this is going? how about another clue? another unusual thought passed through my head on the way to the shops 'going on a long journey, best to play it safe, i'll turn my lights on in the rain' something i don't often do,

so back to piccones iga, radio on/engine off i dash into the bank and brumby's I'll admit i didn't actually dash, as i was in the bank for a good while, was just meant to close an account but stupid brain blurted out a question and i then felt obligated and convinced to go ahead with my request - d'oh,

so maybe a 'little' longer away then i expected back to the car i go and  uh oh!! did you guess??
That's right, FLAT BATTERY!! so on my trusty handy dandy mobile i call RACQ spend 5 mins trying to id  myself as truck wasn't added to membership and i couldn't find card straight away, so we get through that and she tells me "ok someone will be with you within 70 mins, thats 7-0 mins" she repeats. WHaaaaa! now the real estate office is just across the road, but do you think i can duck over there to save time??? no of course not! then he would have been their in 12 mins flat!! so 65 mins later i get a call from racq "where are you exactly?" umm, exactly where i told you?? can't explain it any clearer really?? so 5 mins later racq techie turns up starts my truck and off we go!....... across the road to the real estate : /

I'm going to leave it at that for now because i'm tired and I need sleep now :D
