The 'Pinnacle' of our life here so far :)

We  Jamie had a spur of the moment idea last night, which resulted in us today going on a 400ish km round trip to visit... did you guess? The Pinnacles yay! With the new Indian Ocean Drive just opened, they are practically just down the road.

So many people, very windy, and very nicely managed.

Ready for it? Lots of photos......

Roads are understandably not permanent.

You could drive a 4km oneway loop
or walk a 1.2km trail..... after 10min in the sun and a pink baby,
guess what we chose??

Looking where galahs have made nests in the softer limestone.

there were 'parking bays' to park in and get out to have a closer look

we had to squeeze our BIG truck through that little gap
the truck is over 2m wide, and about 7m long so there were
 some "hairy" bits :)

Not this 'hairy' though, seems a lot of people have misjudged
the 'course'
We took over 100 photos, but i won't bore you with them all..... well maybe just a couple more.

This sand dune was in the middle of nowhere, I'm not sure where it thought it was going?, but it was in a hurry..

that's not a blurry photo, it was the sand dune on the move

see the sand blowing across the road?

All in all,  was a lovely day, with a promise of a lot more :)
our plans for the future?

Kalgoorlie and the super pit

Meckering and it's Earthquake history

Wave Rock

Bunbury to see the dolphins

There's acouple for now, Ill let you know how we go :)

Oh yes, last couple
after a day of this (claire is in there somewhere)

Samuel ended up with this.....

but not from what they were doing..
Samuel was asked to turn the radio on, and Miss Kaytie (as usual) ran ahead to do the job instead, Samuel tripped over her and cartwheeled over the door of the TV unit, thus resulting in his (now yellow) bruise. Both recieved a time out on their beds. Oh why Samuel? i hear you cry. Well his reaction was completely over the top and unacceptable in our home, I'm sure if Jamie and I weren't in the room, Kaytie may have ended up with a bigger bruise then his, judging by the 'daggers' thrown from his eyes at her.

Anyway better go, Sophie is "sweeping" and I'm sure the windows don't need it:)

Jamie goes back to work Tues AM :( but only for 2 weeks :) - to get him back inline with his roster.

sorry, still no house photos yet

I know, i know, i said you'd get to see my house next, but if you put it all together you'll get a good idea.

I thought Chrissy photos would be nicer.

Christmas Eve - we lego'd our little hearts out and....

Created (from instructions mostly) a globe, a chinese dragon, an apple. Lily started with a man and women at a BBQ, and as you do.... made children , 5 in fact... 1 boy and 4 girls - hmmm, sounds like someone we know?? of course! it's us :)
Kaytie made her own batman-esque flying/sailing/driving creation and lastly Samuel started with instructions, but wasn't impressed with square wheels (who would be??)  and improvised and improved.

I can't seem to find the link for the instructions anymore, maybe you need to login to lego club?? they do a monthly set + all the archives in an easy, intermediate and hard. will endeavour to find it and post on our HS page :)

So next up was the 'big' day itself

Clairebear and Sophie slept in until about 9ish,
while the big kids were all up at about 5:30-6.
See, at our house Santa only fills the stockings, and EVERYBODY must wait until EVERYONE is ready.
(They are allowed to see what 'Santa' has brought them.) Usually this has meant that Daddy is outside in the yard/paddock doing jobs until 9:30- 10 ish, I think we waited til 11 one year?, (which used to be AGONY for the cousins when they lived next door) but this year we have no paddock, Daddy had no jobs, though he was contemplating servicing the truck.. until the weather warmed up. ;)  We had a nice breakfast of croissants, got the washing up done, kitchen tidied and everyone ready. Oh yes and a couple of phone calls in between.

We opened our parcel from G'ma Lesley first as she called at that moment.

LOL i'll let the photos speak from now on......

So when we finished talking to G'ma Lesley, every one went down'step' and waited patiently for Daddy to hand out the pressies.

First up.. something for everybody... a new boardgame !

Than Lily

Sophie's turn

Clairebear next
Kaytie...
and last but not least, Samuel.

And so it went around and around, with the children reminding Daddy to slow down, because we only gift one child at a time. rather than a flurry of paper and noise.

Oh yes, Daddy too

We had a beautiful day, just the 7 of us, we enjoyed hot roast vegies and 3 different cold meats (cooked the day before) and the BEST creamy mushroom pasta I've EVER made! While Sophie was in bed, we all played our new boardgame (pictionary) and than mummy and daddy (mostly) had a nap, while the children happily played with their new toys or watched xmas movies. All in the comfort of 24 degree air con, while outside was a scorching 39! how do i know how hot it was?? midway we had to hang out a load of washing..... aren't i glad Jamie made me a clothesline undercover!!

Hope your day was as stressfree and perfect as ours,

Kaytie built a duck, she did all the cutting and planning and taping herself, the funny face is her quacking :D

Samuel has been pretty busy also

This wall WAS taller than Kaytie!! it was only supposed to be as high as the garden bed!
needless to say he had to return it all to the pile behind the shed.

Lily, my little sweetie organised this when i was lying sick in bed with a sinus infection

nawwwww how cute is that!!

Best leave it there. shock horror Jamie wants to go out.... to SPEND MONEY!! maybe his sore ear has addled his brain too ;D hey i don't mind ;D
