PANDA- monium at Adelaide Zoo!!

This one will be light on words but big on photos :) Miss Lily (and Sophie too) is absolutely obsessed with Pandas (though Sophie calls them "gang-gas") and had been hangin' out for this visit, ever since we announced we were driving to Perth. So with out further ado, introducing WangWang and Funi

WangWang

Just across from WangWang were the less popular, but just as cute, Red Pandas

Apparently sulking, as it was impossible to get a 'face shot' of them :)

Here is Funi, she was more active then WangWang, but to be honest it could be the other way round? I'm not 100% on who is/was who.

On this day (and others I s'pose) they had swapped dens, to help them familiarise with each other's smell,  before the keepers try get them to become friendly and make babies. Did you know that if a Mama Panda has twins, she will/can only look after one of them?

We followed her (him?) inside and had the privilege, nay, honour, of watching a panda poop! and did you know? Panda poop is yellow, I never would have guessed, but it does make sense :)

scattered throughout the exhibit - surely that''s the wrong term in this day and age... perhaps habitat is a better term?

Anyway scattered about were all these statues, at the beginning of the walk - yeah that's what it was called i think? were life size replicas of panda cubs at various stages of their 'cubhood' unfortunately for you they are on Samuel's camera, so i only have the big ones at the end :)

Lily's jacket also has a panda on it :)

Say Paann-daaaaaaa!!!!

And that was our trip to the Adelaide Zoo, yes we did see the other animals, no i didn't take photos of the other animals, the only other animal we really wanted to see was a possum for Claire bear, but no flash photography allowed in there. on the way back to Aunty Pam's (we 'lost' her 2/3 of the way) house Samuel finally managed to get a shot of the 'Big Scotsman'

I believe he stands 'guard' over a comfort inn?

8 days and counting
