Suggested Itinerary

Sooo.. where we gonna go, what we gonna do??

Well, so far the plan is to see as many 'Big things" around our sunburned country as possible, within our time (and fund) constraints, hence our current background.
Should I include Cap'n Cook and the Marlin?? I mean ol' Cook has had a new paint job, so in my opinion isn't the same 'bloke' anymore, and the marlin....? Well that's a company logo isn't it? (Stockland), though I guess it is an icon of Cairns, so we'll see how we go.

Anyhoo..

Day 1 - hopefully an early start - yeah right :) 1st break Mission Beach - The Big Cassowary, then a dash through Tully for the Big Gumboot.

Next on to Townsville to the Museum then first night down the road in Ayr.

Day 2,3,4 etc etc. well... we hoping to see;

• Big Mango - Bowen
• The Caves (near Rocky)
• Some of the Big Bulls - Rockhampton
• Big Rum bottle in Bundaberg - where else?? - slightly out of the way so we'll see??
• Big Ned Kelly (?why here?) - Maryborough or was it Marlborough??
• there's a Big Crab in Miriam Vale - but it's on top of a petrol station, so photo ops are slightly.....crap
• Big Mandarin in Mundubbera and Big Orange in Gayndah, am thinking a citrus producing area perhaps?? highly doubt we'll see these though as they are fairly out of the way.
• apparently there is a Big Cow in Nambour, but her friends don't think she is.  boom boom ;P
• Big Stubby/Stubbie in Tewantin, but this was under threat way back in 2004 so I doubt it'll be there, also a Big Shell there too.? again we'll see.
• Australia Zoo - Beerwah
• Big Macadamia - Nambour ??
• Big Apple - Stanthorpe.
• Big Peanut - Kingaroy ??

we are avoiding the big pineapple and banana etc along the coast as after Australia Zoo we will be going inland through Stanthorpe on to Tenterfield (Big Orange ?) and through to Glen Innes for a visit with A Cathy. :D

Gees, that was only in QLD! Have a lot more research to do, as a lot of the info I'm finding is up to 6 years old, but we will plod through and let you know - haha obviously, that's what you here reading for eh?
